How can i tell what mine is? It was an automatic car but previous owner swapped in a 5 speed.

If you get your car up in the air, or at that height crawl under it :biglaugh:, the w58 tapers all the way back from the bellhousing, whereas the r154 tapers a tiny bit after the bellhousing, has a big mid section and tapers a tiny bit back to the tailshaft.

Painted my rims tonight, they look sweet! I also tinted the windows the other day. Cost me 40 bucks for the tint, got 20% on the front two and limo on the back.

Just got done watching iron man on my laptop. I will say this has to be one of my faves when it comes to super hero movies. Didn't like the destroying of the cobra though, hopefully it was a replica.
I got my ball joints in and got them put on today. Got the pair off ebay for $50, compaired to $90 from autozone just for one. Looks as if the previous owner had replaced them at one point. The drivers side shock bolt was in backwards, and the lock pin looked more like a nail. The grease fitting had fallen off one, and neither had any sort of grease left in them. will post pics in the morning. Peace!

WAY better stance! looks pretty nice now, its certanly coming along. Dont let the Turbo guys peer pressure you into anything. There is nothing wrong with an NA mk3 so long as you dont treat it like a race car.

Took the sup down to the tire shop yesterday to get a front and rear alignment and found out that the passenger side tierod was bad. I ordered both inner and outer tierods for both sides on ebay, got all four for about 50 bucks. I also decided to go ahead and replace the clutch while i have the car on stands. Got the F1 racing clutch also off ebay for $180. Parts should be here sometime this week.

Got the tranny pulled out finaly. The top two bolts on the left side are ridiculously hard to get to! Oh, note: Drain transmission oil first before removing transmission! I found out the hard way that the oil will just poor out the back once the driveshaft is pulled:3d_frown:.

Can anyone tell me what seals i should replace? It looks like oil was leaking from the rear shaft, also found some oil inside the bell housing.

I always replace the engine rear main seal every time i remove a transmission, even if it isnt leaking. Check what kind of fluid that is in there and decide if you need to replace the input shaft seal of the transmission. I would replace the output seal as well just to be safe, who wants to pull out a whole drive shaft for one seal.

BTW i think the turbo transmission uses a pull type pressure plate, so it looks like you have an N/A transmission, correct me if im wrong.

P.S. I can smell a bhg with that universal upper hose that close to those cam gears!
