The Maurice Clarrett saga is finally over

He finally stepped up like a man. He plead guilty to two cases, and was sentenced to 7 1/2 years. He will be offered probation after 3 1/2. Maybe he will straighten out his life. And maybe not.

The biggest shame is just how good he was as an 18 year old. He had potential to be as good as Kieth Byars. OSU fans and Miami Dolphin fans know who Byars was.

I hate to say it, but this is absolutely pathetic... Like an animal... You can give him a million dollars and he's still going to rob you for a cell phone... Clarrett is a Youngston kid. Youngston is a city noted for organized crime. Many in the city have been put away. He is just another.

He isn't like Jerome Bettis. Bettis is a lowly 3 yards per carry fat ass that played forever, and chalked up long career numbers.

9 of 13 seasons he averaged under 4 yards a carry. I am not trying to knock your man, my cut down has to do with ND and overzealous college football fanaticism. But he does not belong in the same category as other NFL greats of his generation.

Clarrett never even played in the NFL. Nobody knows what he would have done.
