Is it possible to swap 89+ taillights with 87's taillights?
i prefer the look of the old tail lights.......:icon_bigg

Yes you just need the center piece as well. If you can convert one way (which you can) than you can convert the other way as well. Also, considering almost everyone on here prefers the 89+ look, you can probably find someone on here that would be more than happy to trade their pre 89 set for your 89+ set, assuming they are not trash.

don't know why you'd do it, but it's a complete bolt-on affair..

only problem is the lower trim will not match, but you can always swap trim, which is another step-back, but once painted, pre 89 trim looks great..

i did not know you could paint the pre 89 trim because of the material
it was made out of? it just seems almost impossible to paint it.

thanks for the help guys. its going to be hard to finding the right color center piece
the paint is the stock light blue, but after a respray it somehow came out gray lol

I was wondering, not to jack the thread or anything, but has anyone ever painted the middle piece to the 89 tails before?
I figured it's be pretty good looking, and since my cars black it wouldn't be hard to color match lol
