Does anyone have a tip or trick for removing the two ~.250" index pins in the block? I sprayed some PB blaster on them to try and lossen them up, but no luck yet.

You betcha - just pound the little bastards straight thru with a hammer, then use a retractable magnet to fish them out of the coolant passages in the block.

or if you dont have a magnet handy and the engine is on a stand, you can turn it upside down and get lucky enough that both fall out

I got mine out by hitting them down with a hammer to break them loose, then twisting them out with vise grips.
say, if i fubared one of those pins pretty good sould i start looking for a new one or just mantain speed and course, leave it out and trust the head studs?
