Hey guys,

Took the supra up to a car show last weekend so had to run her about 50 miles on the highway. As we were staying with friends for the night I also had my wife and all our crap in the car. This black firehawk come up along side and starts revving his insanely loud engine. Engine noise as well as some gauges in cockpit + aftermarket exhaust let me know he had done some stuf to the car. Knowing I've got a better chance the faster we start I get him upto about 80 before we punch it. I didn't remember to shut off the A/C either. So we punch it and he initially lurches out front, then commeth the boost and as we get to arounf 100-110 I easily start pulling away. Gotta love those big american V8's that start to pitter out at top end. Anyways, wish I would have had the A/C off and no one else in the car, that would have been fun.

That was the first and only race I've done in the car, I'm usually very loathe to beat on the car AT ALL. But I thought, well just this once. I had to shut her down early as I was just over 1600 EGT readings, didn't wanna fry the engine, as I'm still running stupid rich at WOT, enough to be on the reverse curve of EGT's where I actaully get higher temps cause I'm so rich. Time for a maft pro!

unless the you cam a firehawk they really arent that great top end (stock cam craps out over 5K), with a cam and some headwork he woulda been a lot better race for you, i used to have a built 94 Firehawk on spray and it would pull like a bat out of hell top end, but i had stuff done to the valvetrain

anyways very nice kill dude

Nice and clean Supra. Good Kill. How well are those struts with the eibach pro springs? I used them on stock springs and 1 strut blew before the next oil change. I think aftermarket springs would help that though.

I am actually using the Tokico HP's on stock springs. I have had them on there for at least a year and a half. Still stiff as they were and nothing has gone wrong.

RD: You were doing 80 and had to wait for the boost to hit?

Heh, I thought someone would point that out as I wrote it. Perhaps that was for somewhat dramatic effect, no it wasn't much of a wait upto about .9 bar, that was instant, but my 'ol HKS sport turbo is getting old and tired and doesn't like to hit the max 1.1 bar until higher rpms, so the boost crept up as we accelerated, by around 100 (which doesn't take long at all) I glanced over and noticed I had the full 1.1bar boost, and also noticed that I was easily pulling away at that time.

thanks for the comments guys, I've put some serious time into the car, and am very fortunate to have found one that was taken very good care of before I got her.
