stuttering problem

I changed my front seals and timing belt recently. It ran great for about ten minutes, then it started stuttering any time I touched the gas. It got worse and worse until it would do it all the time. I found out the timing gear jumped a tooth. I corrected that but it didn't help. After sitting for two weeks, it still does it but not all the time. I thought I bent my valves but it would run bad all the time if I did. Any ideas?

Since you found the timing was off, but then the symptoms stayed, did you look to see if the tensioner spring is ok?

Perhaps it is still off.

the 7m is a noninterference motor so you cant bend a valve unless something is very very wrong.

check the cps and the ground u have on the coils. if its a weak ground it could lead to a problem similiar to what you described

I will check the cps. I don't have an afm, I have a MAFT. I have never had the ground on the coils and it has never done this in five years that I have owned it, but I will put one on. The spring on the tensioner seems fine.
