i would just start going through everything and planning out what you should leave in. basically just motor and trans comes out. don't take out more than you have to now, cause it will be alot easier to wire everything up for the 1j if you know what it is.

all i took out was stock radiator, fan...unplug all plugs...disconnect ground from back....open up passenger side glovebox and pull harness....disconnect heater hoses..unbolt driveshaft....remove shifter...unbolt tranny 4 bolts...unbolt from cat from exhaust(well thats what i did)....and remove..............i think

p.s. great time to get new downpipe,cat,cat-back:naughty:

So... Do i need to do something to the 1JZ harness to fit the MA70... I heard of some people extending it, but is that all really necessary?

You can drill a hole below the speedo cable or notch the speedo hole and fit the harness in without extention. I am planning to go this route when I do my swap in a couple of weeks. Do a search on it, it is covered on another thread.

oh another idea, take pictures of anything you might question later. i wish i would have taken pictures of my front clip before i pulled the motor out. but most importantly take pictures of where all the harness plugs go if you take it off and completely pull it apart like some people do. i just cut it by the ecu wire by wire and extended it.
