Strange question? Timing cover removed?

If you've got pretty anodized or adjustable cam gears, then you can show them off. You can also get a clear timing cover. I suppose that if you have adjustable gears, you could also adjust them easier.

Personally, I'm not into the show aspect of the motor, so I'd want to put the cover back on, in order to prolong the life of my timing belt.

Exactly my thinking, I don't care how unlikely it is, I'm not going to be the one sitting on the side of the road bitching. As for the adjustable cam gear reason that has been mentioned, I have seen a 2 part design that completely covers them, but can be removed without having to remove anything else.
