haha ya thats a lot of drama from some of the stock twins guys

i took those vids last saturday, we posted them up that night and had 2 guys(former record holders) calling BS right off the bat

i can tell you, my car is up at that shop, so i was up there and i watched it getting built, its stock twins, lil bit higher compression, stock fuel, stock trans, 3800 stall, weight reduction like no other, welded rear N/A diff, Greddy Emanage ultimate, slicks. the car was built on a budget just to mainly see if a budget car could come close to the record, let alone actually break it. But it did and now theres whining about it, since its not all "factory twins" and its not a full "street" car

he barely scratched the surface of performance mods
lots of boost
compression
anti lag
a stall
c16

no cams or porting

and basically said well i dont really need power if i take 600 pounds out of the car. i just personally wouldnt be real impressed with myself if i went out and took the record from cars that weighed 400+ pounds more than me

its just like what boost logic or some shop that has a full preped car said in the thread "guess ill put twins on and take the record"

that was sarcasm he was saying how anyone can simply take the record by stripping a car because thats basically what snap did thats why there needs to be a weight cap.

can i do what snap did not sure i dont have a mk4 im sure he put blood sweet and tears into building the car but he still only beat cars at a severe weight handicap to him

actually those shops arent being sarcastic, hes good friends with most of the big shops and they actually are considering building an all out twins car.

since no one ever specified what the weight of the car had to be to set the record, is the only he took all the weight out of it. now if they would have said it has to be X weight to hit the record it would have been built for that, but it would have been supplemented with cams, more boost (the runs are only 21-22psi) a built auto, etc etc. and the car is not stripped out like they are saying on SF, i see that car quite a bit every week. its not just a dash and a carpet on the inside as they are saying.

but as you saying that he only won because he took out all the weight giving the other cars a handicap, the same could be said that his car was at a handicap of power as compared to the others who have more done. its all the perspective that you look at it from. unlike some guys im not dogging on the other cars at all, for full weight they are fast as a butt raped monkey to hit 10.8

im sure if he took the same amount of weight out of his car, it would be well into the low 10s and would set a new record

i respect what he did but im just saying personally i wouldnt feel accomplished. especially since the record was a forums only thing that kinda was like a just for fun thing now its gonna be a regulated thing with rules but thats the way things go i guess. im kinda suprised the car sold for so low on ebay tho someone got a good deal

edit just saw the pictures that car looks pretty mean someone really did get a good deal

actually from what he told all the dfw guys on our board its not sold, so i have no idea what happened on ebay

all i know is im gonna run in when my car is done, ill probably get my ass handed to me, but o well

o and for the big shops, while they told him theyre considering it, i doubt theyd take the time and do it

Second, this is Supramania and not SF, so lets keep this clean as I don't want to start deleting or closing this thread.

The drama over on SF is a joke and that thread should be closed. Stock twins is stock twins period. As far as weight, who gives a rats ass if it has a couple of hundred pounds less than another car. If your girlfriend is fat and mine is skinny, is it MY fault? :nono:

Ive seen a Greddy Airnix kit on Yahoo japan for the 1JZ that is almost exactly similar to Snaps intake setup. IIRC it was $350 US or so
