does anyone have any insight on changing the steering gear boot on the front suspension? still in the process of fixing a stripped bolt on the water pump, and noticed this problem under the car. any help would greatly be appreciated, as im encountering problem after problem right now.

all you have to do is completely remove the tie rod end that you are working on. loosen the larger clamp on the rack that holds the boot and use a pair of pliers to remove the smaller one that locks onto the inner tie rod, then it just slips out with little force, then replacing is reverse of removal, i did this many times, although just be sure to add the moly grease in the insides of the boot and inner tie rod..

Snap-On sells a kickass universal boot, that fits great!

Here they are installed.

I bought mine from autozone/oreilly (forgot which one) and they didn't last at all. They're more plastic like than rubbery.

Rock auto has some cheap prices, when you enter your year, supra turbo blah blah bla. Go to steering and Rack and Pinon Bellows. Thats what you need at 7 dollars for the regular and 11. 50 for the better ones you cant really go wrong with the 11.5o ones. Considering that Autozone has them for $30 plus dollars and they gonna be the Rock Auto 7 dollar service grade type. Good luck by the way i have personally used both the 7 and the 11.50 and no problems yet but the 11.50 look to be a better more resistent material.
