I was wondering wat you guys know or feel about the starions/conquests. Any helpfull input would be greatly appreciated. I want to sell my Subaru SVX and look for a cheap turbo 4banger or maybe just a 4 banger.

Starion's are pretty sick. Find the british Top Gear episode with the old starion in it. It was sweet. they bought one for 1500 or something and it still had some balls. 140 top speed and handled well too. even being 15 years old.

That was a good episode...didn't that car come out on top overall after they were done with the competition? But yeah, I love the looks of those cars but if you think about it, very similar body lines to the MKIII.

It did come out on top but it only beat an old (and shitty) Jag and an old bmw (i think 6 series). The Jag was good for high speed, ride quality but nothing else, the bmw was just ok. The starion had most everything but ride quality, which was absolutely awful, appearantly.

starquest's are ftw.
I've always loved them, they're always cheap, and always low mileage, well kept cars... around here anyway.
At any given time, you can own one for $3,000 with <30,000mi on it...

I think someone should buy one, and do this:

or 1jz, which has been done, but I can't find any pictures of...

Unless you plan on spending a whole lot of time and money on it you will hate the Starion. Plan on replacing just about every part of the car, literally. They are not built like a Supra. I went looking at them for sale before I bought a Supra, but they were all falling apart.

My friend and I did a hg job on one and it never started again.
We did everything according to the manual and nothing.
Took it to a shop and they couldn't figure it out.
Plus timing chains suck.

Money pit, cool looking and if in original condition definatly a collectors item considering its the first turbo'd example of a mitsubishi sports car. I was extremely close to handing $800 over for one but the thought of doing a timing chain and hg and replacing a bunch of little things just to get it reliable while workin on the supra simultaineously just turned me away. Go for it and drop in a built 4g63.
