I figured if change my timing belt while I ha the timing cover off. Just wondering if one from the parts store is plenanty good, or if it is worth getting a nice aftermarket one? Thanks

That is an automatic +5 hp. And if you add a few stickers, you will get +2hp for each one and +1 vitality, and +4 dexterity. lol

I too have always wondered what is so special about the aftermarket fancy blue belts. Is there honestly a difference in them? Other then the price, and the name on the package obviously.

Yeah, the blue timing belt is worthless without the stickers. If you didn't install the stickers then you're cheating yourself out of HP.

Caddyshack reference... how old are you?

Older than everyone on here except perhaps IJ and JJ
Let's just say I have seen a live feed from the moon, and leave it at that, kids.

PS- Gates claims that their racing belts are up to 300% stronger than oem.
Stronger how? I dunno. I guess in terms of stretch or actual failure point.

So have I! Of course I think I may have been only a week old so the memory of it is not as strong as some from the following weeks after that. And then my teenage years are totally gone.

My regular gates belt cost me 9$.

Looks like we have a winner for the price department. Almost time for me to get a new one. BUT Now for the deciding question........

did it come with a sticker?

I will send you my sticker for $50.
(that's approximately the price difference between racing and standard).
... But for that price I also include a can of blue spraypaint.

Holy carbon-dated crap, Batman!
Now I understand why you're so ornery.

As for the Gates their claim involves the cording. More hype than anything else.

So if the cording thing is hype....you're saying that I have a Gates HYPER BELT.

AWESOME! sooo worth the extra money now...
