so the weather is getting warmer again finally. every year my car goes through this stalling phase. it never does it while driving, only when i am at an idle. after it dies, it takes 1 or 2 minutes of trying to start it again before it finally does. when i try to turn it over, i smell fuel, and the car backfires on ocassion. but after it starts again, it runs fine. can the change in atmosphere cause the car to do this?

Change in winter gas to summer causing the problem maybe?
you mean like if the car sits too long without driving? nope, it's a dd even in the winter. 92 octane only from shell.

No, I mean when companies switch from their winter mix fuel to summer mix to help reduce emissions. I notice this for my Subaru every year. Car runs great in the winter, then once the weather gets warmer the car has hesitation at low speeds. Does the problem eventually go away every year? If it does, you can try pulling your EFI fuse or disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes to force the ECU to re-learn.

well, it hasn't done it since the day of the of the original post. and i haven't filled up the gas tank yet, so the same gas is still in the tank. when it happens, it seems to flood itself. what would cause the car to flood itself at idle?
my safc2 is set to default. so i don't think that has anything to do with it. maybe i should buy a wideband?
