I bought the HKS SSQV and the recirc fitting for it. It blows off loudly, and my car doesn't stall.

It's a win-win situation, like having your cake and eating it, too. :)

I have mine open atomsphere and i just tap the gas to keep it from dieing.
Ive ran a HKS SSQV for about 3.5 years, driving it like that. after the first year i played with the tune and it helped some, but i still had to play with the throttle to keep it from stalling.
to me its worth the sound :)
same here i have a blitz bov and i have to tap it to keep it running but at idle just out of the blue sometimes the car starts stumbleing any answers to that i think its cause the wels around the bov has pin holes in it and i need to get it re welded

hmm interesting how you guys recirc. vented BOV. I had my turbo xs type H in for the past year, and took it out about 3 weeks ago b/c i finally got tired of it stalling out in traffic (especially up hills). Im curious if you guys think it's possible to recirculate this bov

so it won't stall out but still have the vented sound?
heres my setup before that stalled

what you could do is find a BOV that vents some air to the atmosphere and the rest into the accordion hose. i have a BOV that does that (i believe its turbo XS as well) and my car doesn't hesitate or stumble but you still get a nice swoosh at anything over vacuum. works good.

You could run your car w/ a speed density set up and vent your bov that way. Otherwise your going to keep running into that rich condition after you let off of the gas until you stop ignoring the problem.

Its a MAF system and just ISN'T designed to vent.

I used to have a stalling problem also. All I needed to do was to adjust the spring on the BOV. Not sure if the TurboXS has an adjustment though. If it does, try to tighten the spring. It helped me, and I could be wrong.

Nah turbo xs doesnt have a option to adjust spring. When i called last year and asked them what to do to fix the stalling the guy recommended i cut the spring a little at a time to see what works (they sell replacement springs), there was a difference but very minor. I cant afford the maft conversion and need a low budget fix for minor b/c as of now my bov is off and collecting dust.

hellraiser do you have a type h turbo xs by any chance?
