ss hose ok to touch exh. manifold????????

I have my drain line on my t04 but it is touching the manifold. I was wondering if this is ok?

I'd get it off the manifold. Make a little stay or something. You never want anything touching the exhaust manifold.

Stainless hose has rubber or teflon lining...usually good to 300 degs or so. You manifold reaches temps well above that

that being said, if its close at all to the manifold, i'd recomend fireproof sheilding, its an orange tube that covers the line and helps insulate it. it's not the prettiest thing but I belive it's worth it.

I wouldn't recommend fireproof shielding, but thermotec heat wrap - If the line runs close, you want to shield it from radiant heat - I'm pretty sure fireproof shielding is just that - fireproof, It does not shield heat, which the line needs.

Its never advisable to run anything "touching" the exhaust manifold, especially on a turbo car.

Also make sure you put some heat sleeve around the hose Chase.

Got pics? It shouldn't be touching at all. The ones we have made using that manifold did not.

I've had them come close, but not touching.
