This past weekend I traded my 87 Supra for a 1999.5 1.8T Quattro Tiptronic. I’m not sure what the exterior color is called but it’s almost Titanium like. Anyway its bone stock except for a head unit. Has 77k miles on the clock, new timing belt, tie rods, all new tires and brakes. I needed a more practical car for college so this should work and its so nice to drive. I have already debadged back. Anyone else here have one of these? On to the pics...

That motor loves to breathe, so let it.

I know, im working on it. Im not doing any kind of aftermarket modifications until I take care of all tune up and current issues (spark plugs, needs a wheel bearing, a few gaskets, and fix anything that needs to be fixed). Then ill get a nice filter, ECU chip, bigger injectors, and K04 turbo upgrade.

I'll be interested in seeing how this turns out. I've always had a soft spot for A4s, but the dull interior (and the lack of monies to buy an S4) has always put me off.

How's the the gearbox?

I looked at a few A4's. They're really nice cars, but I like BMW's better. Now if I can only find what I'm looking for, I'll be all set! :)

Nice car!

lagged- I love that car, your buddy really maintained it very well. Im really interested to see what he will be able to get out of my old supra.

dons1mpson- Its a tiptronic gearbox so its certainly not the best but it does shift very smoothly. Over all im happy with it though.

nice audi, thou it's a bit sad that u've traded it to supra

Thanks man, I will just have this car as a driver and lightly modify it untill I get out of college. Then Ill absolutely get another Supra, probably MKIII ( have a real soft spot for them) or maybe a MKIV.

I did the same thing, but only cause i got RK

I bought a 97 2.8 5speed black on black. my favorite combo of things for an a4. only wish it was a 99.5+

i only have this pic of my messin around in the parking lot at snoqualmie. quattro ftw!

ps. im really embarassed with its performance, only 170 hp out of a v6, slow as hell, and BARELY better mpg than the supra. im not a big fan of VW really, i wanna sell it and get another supra eventually lol

Nice man, it looks really good. You should have gone with the 1.8T, its only 150hp but you can chip it and upgrade the turbo to a bolt on from the Audi TT and have around 250hp. Plus As of now I am getting 420miles to a 15 gallon tank (28mpg average).

haha yeah i hear ya. Im not huge on speed for the audi but since im just so used to driving something with lots of it, the audi just feels like a dog. Ive got to get at least 200ish.

yea i feel ya. there is something to be said about the baller status of audis, cause everybody that doesnt know better assumes theyre expensive and hellla fast. theyre always suprised when i tell them its barely 5k for one and theyre slow as shit lol.

im suprised there isnt a4s with other turbos than k04s. u think different people would try something different... but then again almost all audi owners do the exact same thing.

1. lower the shit out of it
2. smoke taillights
3. chip

kinda boring personally, but meh, u should push for 350 awhp :evil2:

Stay AWAY from off the shelf chips, get someone to burn you one for your setup tuning it on a dyno. There is a guy by me that is amazing with VW/AUDI tuning, but he isn't cheap and it might be too far.

BTW, needs some wheels.

I know I need to work on rims. By the way, can you give me any more info about the guy you know doing VW/Audi tuning? If hes that good and experienced Id be willing to make the drive and shell out the cash for quality work. (its hard to believe a former MKIII owner said that last sentence there lol)
