So I am throwing an afm code. My car doesn't like to start. When it does, it idles for about 5 seconds and dies. (idles at about 750-1000). When I hit the gas, the car dies immediatly. I have a new afm on the way (thanks idealsupra) but my friend had the same symptoms on his protege(different car, but oh well) and it was the fuel pump. Can anyone lay this fear of mine to rest? Is it simply the afm gone crap causing this, or could it...gulp, be a tank dropping bastard fuel pump gone wussy? If the latter, is it true that toyota fuel filters never need to be replaced?
