Thanks guys! I actually opted for this turbo size by the way it spooled on your car I watched on YouTube. I opted for the slightly smaller exhaust housing though (.83 divided)

Only reason I switched to the jz distributor was my 7m cps went bad on the dyno. Instead of taking a chance again with having yet another cps fail, the guys over at Portland speed industries suggested that I upgrade.

The only difference is the wheel is bigger which makes for a more reliable and clean signal I guess you could say.

It is rather big which is its only downfall. Sometime in the future I'd like to go to a hall sensor on the cam/crank for a cleaner look. This setup works great for now though! Now if the dang snow will clear out of the area I could take it for a spin

Installed the yotamd voltage meter in place of the rear washer button. Definitely a nice touch and looks just like the factory green clock! It's right in my line of sight too which is great

glad i could help in the decision! mine actually came with the .88 open and i swapped it for the divided .83 like you got. it made the turbo sooooooooo much better to drive. i just hope its not a restiction when i push it to 700whp. i ran it up to 30psi but boost was dropping to around 26psi. that got me 131mph which is like mid 600's depending on the dyno. i think with it holding 30ish psi should get it to 700whp and trap over 135. its either a boost leak, my wastegate spring getting blown open, or the .83 housing is done at 26psi. hoping one of the first two. only ran it that high for one drags though so didn't have time to figure it out.

oh ok yeah i can see that. my cps has worked great besides rarely it wont start and i have to wiggle the wire to it. that hasn't happened years though. might wait to go standalone so i can run 10's on the 7mgte ecu pretty sure i'll have the record set pretty high if i can make it happen!

All I can say is wow. This turbo spools crazy fast, well at least what I'm use to.
Seems that full boost is roughly 3600rpm, I was only running 10psi wastegate pressure only a couple times until I finish breaking in the engine.

Lots of varying gears and ram with lots of vacuum coasting to stops. Not sure exactly how long the "break in" is but time to get it over with so I can get a solid dyno tune done! I'm ready to see what it can really do with more boost

Motoman break-in method (on the dyno). IMO, the best engine break-in method there is, and only takes a few hours.

Ken.
I've heard of this especially when breaking in a street bike engine, hence the name ;)

The only head work I've done was springs, retainers and seals so there really isn't much there to "seat" like valves would.

Really the only thing to break in is the rings. I'll give the shop that is tuning the car a call and see what they recommend. Even if I did get the car broke in and tuned I couldn't drive it in the road for awhile, there is snow and tons of salt still

Had someone ask if I was still running the factory fuel damper on the rail, I still am. Heard of some issues with high flow fuel pumps and no dampers so I decided to keep mine. Just welded a 6an fitting on the end of the factory banjo

Hate to cover up the nice aem cam gears and belt, but I'd rather not have anything work it's way down inside! So on goes the cover. I cut it in half for easy installation and removal

I also plan to run something like this for the firewall grommet where the engine harness goes

Ring seal is most critical when trying to make good power. In fact, I think idling a new motor is the kiss of death as it relates to making maximum power. Living in SoCali, I could not afford to be caught in the inevitable bumper-to-bumper traffic while trying to break in the motor on the road. I'm not saying the "gentle" break-in will not work. It does, but not as effectively as the motoman method.

This may help: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

Mother thread on Supraforums: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?56491-How-to-properly-break-in-a-newly-rebuilt-motor! No matter what approach you utilize, best of luck to you.

The snow finally melted off the roads so I took the car for a spin. Went through 2 tanks of fuel today with all sorts of driving.

So... Im hoping to get the car down to PSI this next month (Feb) and get a solid tune so I can finally enjoy the car.

Also, my speedometer has always been a little bouncy but it finally quit on me driving down the road. So I will have to get that fixed. I'd also like to do the tablet for rpm, speed, and other sensors as well as have navigation for trips.

Only one picture for today cruising around with my friends gtr32

What exactly is an accusump? I've seen them on build threads here and there but really haven't looked much into them. Saying that, I'll go check them out

The key to engine immortality if you dont break anything, thats what it is. Mine is a 2 qt, they are worth every penny. You can see it up front here

Reworking the harness a bit by running my coils and injectors to their own fuses on the fuse block. Will make testing and troubleshooting much easier to pull a single fuse at one location

Gave the air filter a bath and tie wired my power steering reservoir. The bracket developed a crack so I'll need to get thst welded back up

Rebuilt the power steering pump with all new seals, crush gaskets, and topped off with fresh atf fluid...
Took her out for a long cruise my my buddies mk4, she's loving the boost! Feel just as quick as my old hx35, only on 10psi waste gate pressure!

I also started to Mockup/make a template for a better catch can

Today was such a nice day, took the soup out for a drive and did some tuning.
Running 18psi of boost and only 11 degrees timing, she pulls hard! Although the 83a/r exhaust housing choked up top in higher gears, I'm impressed...
I will end up switching out to the 91 or 1.0 rear housing eventually
Also wired up the launch control switch, if I ever get around to setting it up... Installed it inside the shift knob... Sure looks clean! No wires showing either!
