Just saw a 1970s toyota corolla on the road today, looked soooooooo clean! it was driven by a really old lady. Maybe ford should wisely spend their money and not blow it off on Viagra for their workers...

Someone said during all this bailout BS that American cars would be fine if they lasted less than 70, 80k miles.

thats optimistic! my dad had an 02 Pontiac Sunfire that he put 175K miles on it in 5 years..at 175K the fuel pump went out...that was the only thing wrong with it..

Japanese cars are somewhat idiot proof...With Nissans, other than oil changes you dont need fluid changes for 100,000 miles..thats the problem with people..they think that they dont have to do maintenance to cars.. those hondas and stuff from the 70s are still on the road because people maintained them

toyota employs soooo many americans and last time i heard they were planing on opening yet another plant. especially since the toyota prius is on back order. the majority of the toyotas are made right here in the US. i believe one of the only things not made here are the transmissions. and further more when the big 3 started laying ppl of i believe toyota started hiring some of them back on.

toyota FTW

"the Big 3" deserve to go out of business since the are building cars at a price that is absurd and paying their employees absurdly high wages. Seriously, does someone on an assembly line really deserve to earn $71 an hour? At the very most they should only be paid $20 an hour. I really gotta laugh at that dealership for its ignorance. It's funny to think that 60% of our "Japanese" cars are actually 100% American made. I say let the weak die and the strong prevail. The big 3 doesn't need a bailout, they need pay cuts and to get rid of their bonuses.

If they get a bail out, will Pizza Hut get one too when people stop buying pizza's? And what about Starbucks when people stop paying $7 for a coffee? Anyone remember how much Chevrolet spends on viagra for its employee's? Oh ya, what about Viagra, they are going to need a bail out too. I guess it just shows with enough money, you really can buy anything.

Its not the "Big 3"s fault. I believe its all with the Union. UAW is the reason these companies are losing so much money because they're keeping the wages up in the stratosphere. UAW needs to get thrown out the window and the people at these companies need to get paid what their labor is worth. Not $50-$70/hr.
The "Japanese" car companies seem like they're not hurting. Hell they're even building new plants.
