What problems have you guys run into when trying to register jdm cars in the US? I live in california so if anybody from here has any info i would really appreciate it

You'll have to pass smog, pass safety inspections, and get it passed the Department of Transportation. Here, just read this from SupraCentral.
The only "JDM"/RHD cars I've ever seen are an R32 and based on what the owner told me(and what everyone else agrees on), it's not worth the hassle unless you've got the time and money to pop for it.

There is a legal JDM RHD supra up here in the Bay Area. He got all the work done years ago though. It was actually for sale on here a while back.
