The insurance on my Supra runs out on Oct.11, Im parking it for the winter from then on. Right now its sitting at 237 000km's with no major engine work done, its been very well maintained and still running great, valve stem seals are getting worn, smokes a little bit if revved until its warm but other than that it purrs.
Theres no records of the timing belt or head gasket being done and since I plan on keeping this car a long time I figure I should treat it well and do some preventative maintenance.
Here is what I want to replace:
-timing belt
-valve stem seals
-water pump
-gaskets + seals
any recommendations on brands? I know there's some pretty crappy replacement parts out there. What else should I pay attention to? What exact parts/seals/gaskets should I replace?
Recently replaced:
Spark Plugs (225 000km)
Valve Cover Gaskets (220 000km)
Radiator( 231 000km) coolant system has been flushed twice a year for the past 10-12 years.
I want to do a compression and leak down to see where my compression is at before taking the head off, I dont really want to do a head gasket on it but i know its best to do it now.
