What is the is the highest hp level the r154 can stand? Are there ways that we can beef the tranny up? The some question I have for the rear end in the car. I do believe that jaws gear offers packages for beefier rears.

The tranny as a whole is a tank! The problem lies in the lubrication system (splash style) to the front thrust washer.

Either buy a new one, or have an aftermarket one made and have it coated.

Also, I know there have been 700hp+ on R154's.

Well what consists of a aftermarket build? Are there all aftermarket parts? Are we just talking about coating the gears and replacing thrust washer and sychros

Don't forget that there is a far cry from a fresh r154 and a 100,000 mile r154 in terms of max torque capacity.

your only cheap/real hope is to run a good sticky oil. i've had good luck w/redline heavy shockproof....
