Am I read the TSRM correctly. You install the pressure plate and disk, Then mate tranny and motor . Rotate crank and bolt flywheel bolts one at a time?
tips, when youre ready to reinstall, line up your pressure plate/flywheel holes and mark the flywheel and pressure plate before going back in. because the mounting holes arent symmetrical, one or two are offset and can be frustrating if you dont get all the holes to match up... youll get to the last couple bolts and there wont be holes for them to go in.
other than that, use the moly on the clutch fork like the tsrm says
Yeah, I read that like in the other thread. Thanks for posting that. I will assemble the plate and flywheel on the bench and mark with a paint pen. That way I will just have to lines up the paint lines.
So with the clutch fork is there any sort of clip or pin that keeps it all together . This is a swap and I got the tranny and a box full of parts. The TSRM didn't show that assembly process and if it did I did not see it.
Brand new bell (JZ), so I have a small thin clip type thing that appears to be able to bolt under the bracket that has the hook for the fork. Is that the clip and does it in fact bolt under the bracket?
Yup , that's it. Thanks for taking the picture. I see that Driftmotion sells a clutch alignment tool like for every other set up. Has anyone ever tried to do this like you would on a w58? Other then the shift fork why does the TSRM suggest that you do it this way?
There's no need for the alignment tool on the R154.
I don't even know why clutch kits contain them. I just got a Spec 2+ for mine, and it included the dumb thing.
I'm developing a small pile of alignment tools, lol. On our trannys, the input shaft IS the alignment tool.
