r154 attached to 2jz

I know this question has probably been answered before but I searched and couldnt find anything. So here it is again. Which bell housing would you use to attach a r154 to 2jz for a manual tranny swap. Would the 1jz bell housing for a r154 work or would a w58 bellhousing off a 5 speed soarer work. Any help would be awesome.

I have heard some people say that a w58 would work, but I dont see how it could. However, I have never tried it...

I used a 1jz bell housing. If you try out a w58 and it works then more power to you.

R154 to 2jz block - Use a JZa70 bell housing with the 7mgte clutch setup. Youwill also need the Jza70 flywheel.

1JZ-GTE M/T bellhousing
1JZ-GTE M/T flywheel (with new bolts -- 90910-02103 Qty: 8)
7M-GTE clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing/etc.

Done and done.

and wouldnt the w58 off of the MKIV n/a work? or is it different from the mkiii w58

Any W58 can be bolted to the 2JZ with the 2JZ-GE M/T bellhousing.

The MKIV N/A 2JZ-GE extension housing/shifter setup wouldn't work in a MKIII however (remote shifter bracket/linkage instead of direct into transmission).
