Did search for ball joint, ball joints, ball joint change etc. nothing. Is there a write up on how to change front lower ball joints? Heard it was easy, anyone?

Yeah i checked tsrm naturally first, but it didn't give me directions on how to change, just how to check. I checked and it definitely is the ball joint, but dont know how exactly to change it.

Anyway have a quick read, print it even, then go out and gather up some tools take the wheel off and look at the suspension.
It's not a very difficult job and there's no better way to learn than hands on.

You have to unbolt the bottom of the strut, slide that bolt out. Take the pin out and castel nut off the ball joint. After this the lower control arm will drop down a little bit. Then there are just three nuts holding it in. Take everything out, replace, and MAKE SURE YOUR TORQUE IS CORRECT. I think that should give you a rough idea. It's been about a year or so since I've done it but it's not bad.
So I don't need a pickel fork (ball joint seperator)? And tsrm says nothing about unbolting strut?
I didn't need one, but it just depends. You can pick one up at harbor freight for little or nothing. Or you could just tap the top with a rubber mallet, just depends on the car really, but you won't know how tight it is untill you get under there. As far a dropping the shock, I just remember that it made the job much easier. I'm not sure if you can get the back yoke out with it in place.
Unbolt from the hub using an impact wrench or a large breaker bar, and use a hammer to knock the ball joint out...seriously, the ball joints are one of the simplest parts to change on this car. Be sure to torque as per TSRM.

You sure do have to disconnect the bottom of the shocker, I started one yesterday and the third ball joint bolt wont ease up enough to come fully out unless the bottom of the shock is moved.The tsrm doesnt tell you this, but it is the only way to get all three bolts out so you can remove the joint.:evil5::hitit:
