Hi guys, I am running version 4.80 software and I just had a question that someone will hopefully answer.
When using the pt tracking, it says to disconnect the o2 sensor.
Now when that is done, the car is in open loop.
I set the tps voltage at .45 (mine is .42 at idle)
idle rpm at 800
a/f at 14.8

When this is set and the o2 is unplugged, should the maft pro start to adjust the a/f to hit that 14.8 a/f ratio? Essentially this is what the pt tracking does correct?
However, when you plug back in the stock o2 wouldn't it try to run what the stock ecu was set for, and just overrides the maft pro because it goes back into closed loop now?

I set it up as mentioned, unplugged the o2 and the a/f's started to hit the mid 13's.

Secondly,
I read the vf signal should be around 2.25 at idle.
Do you guys just adjust the mainscale and low load table to register 2.25vf?

Thanks guys

hey spoolin', i've been playing w/ the MAFT pro myself for a little while now. first off I would honestly upgrade to the latest firmware. they've done alot of GOOD revision on it, and i've got a pretty decent/stable tune on it now. Also they have some new features which if you'd like to employ are available. like timing adjust/monitor. very nice IMO.

now to your question. PT Tracking will attempt to correct you into your desired AF range. However.. you're right that the O2 must be unplugged for this. this forces our comp into open loop as you know so that everything is consistent and you don't have computers fighting each other. if you leave the o2 plugged in, you have the supra comp trying to adjust along w/ the MAFT pro. both fighting each other. and being that the MAFT pro goes off the VF signal for adjustments. it'll be a step behind the Supra ECU. I've honestly tried playing w/ PTT, and could never get satisfactory results from it. I ended up getting a great tune w/ the PTT disabled and the o2 unplugged. The website they have is a great source of info and they have a supra specific section that I would recommend hitting up, very knowledgabe guys there.

if any the above is incorrect or inconsistent some one feel free to correct. but I believe this to be correct to the best of my knowledge.

So when you did the pt tracking, you drove around with the o2 sensor unplugged?
And just tuned the whole a/f curve at various rpms/ speed etc?
If so, when you plugged back in the o2 sensor did it not change all of this?
And secondly, with the pt tracking at idle, when you plug back in the o2 sensor does it not go back to whatever the ecu wants, and therefore overrides the maft pro?
