OK simple question but I just want to run it by everyone cause I had a slight problem.

Q: Hooking up the starter, I have a cable from the positive batt. terminal to the stud on the starter, and tightened down with the nut. Then the signal wire hooked up to the spade clip on the solenoid.

This is correct right? Because I did this and the positive battery terminal got really hot really fast. So I unhooked the negative and was barely able to get the positive one off cause it was that hot.

....i mean thats just kind of dumb, but I took a chance after checking and rechecking everything...and hooked it back up. And we are good, nothing is getting hot. But the battery is dead so it didn't start. :(
