I have already fixed the problem. But, has anyone ever had the sensor on the bottom of the overflow tank go on them. My dad came home from the store with his 87 and his light was on so he checked the fluids and everythin was fine. So I took a spare overflow tank I had and put it on and the problem was solved. I have just never seen/heard of that happening before. Has it ever happened to any of you?

Yes, he knows there's a sensor there...

And OP, yes, some people have posted about them going bad. It's a mechanical switch and as such it's going to wear over time. There are ways to replace it with greater longevity inn mind... but it's not really worth it. ;)
