Hey, do you guys think it would be cheaper in the long run to buy all my pieces seperatley and tell a shop to build my engine or for the shop to get all the parts and send me a bill? I'm looking into prices on getting my motor rebuilt.

lots of times they want to buy the parts (can you say markup?), and some won't do the work unless they buy em...

Yup. Thats actually what the guy at Aamco said when they were rebuilding my tranny. They charged me the same amount for parts as any other place i could find to buy them separate.
But Shop X would love to profit on the mark-up instead of letting Parts Place X have it.
