well this is the condition in which i picked up this supra. as u can see its nothing flash, however it did contain a few goodies such as the r154 gearbox, which at the price i paid for the car, was good enough reason to buy it.

rather then stripping the parts and getting the shell taken away and crushed, i decided to turn it in to a cheap track car project. since i am on a tight budget, the main emphasis on this car was to try and get it as light as possible.

since alot of work has already been done so far, ill let the pics to the explaining as it woul dtake far to long for me to type up the history of it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

as it stands, the spec list is as follows. items which are in bold are temporarily borrowed from my soarer (reason being this car was slapped together in a very short peoriod of time b4 the end of the drag season to get a few passes in and see where i was at,
i want to do a couple more track days while the running gear is still in the supra b4 i put it back in soarer - i know it sounds like alot of time wasting swapping parts over etc but dont have finances to rebuy everything atm).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

on another forum, this supra was a project to try and run a 10 for under 5k, however, due to funds and the urge to get out there and drive it, the direction
changed and it is turning into more of a drift car, yet will see the drags when i have a motor powerful enough to run the times i want. the budget is still an important aspect of this
projects so ive been keeping a tally of almost every cent ive spent on it, and all money ive mnade from selling parts off it, sorry its not in the best formatt but u get the idea,

NOTE: all these prices are 100% real, not fudged or made up and ill keep them updated as the supra progresses

this is the state as which its at now.

im yet to hit the track with the new seat setup or with the new brake setup.

i had to take drastic measures to the floor since being 6"2, a helmet and a roll cage meant my head couldnt sit upright without touching the roll cage.

im very happy with the way it all turnout out though.

been looking at ordering a set of hoosier radials (245/295) before i hit the track next which would completely transform the car for sprint/time attack events

Looks good man, you know what it tips the scales at?
Also using cooling fans in a pusher configuration, they are only %80 efficient vs. using them in a puller configuration witch will allow then to be as efficient as possible;)

wow looks awesome. when you get some track time, try to get some footage, would love to see this in action

ALL CLIPS ARE WITH 350 HP (14 psi)

officials wernt happy with my side pipe burnouts noise level given it was suppose to be a street meet

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5itq2cYrC8

hows this for a bog - note to self - never attempt drag racing without a tacho. officials also didnt like the oil i was burning up either- 7m oil dipstick design with an o-ring seal is gayest idea
best run for the night was 12.3 i think at 116 mph. was pretty gutted it didnt run 11s cause it feels a shit load quicker then my soarer which ran a 11.8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBLgLillw3Q

2 clips at ahg - as u can see - i like to to use the whole track and hit cones
(nothing flash but other then 3 drag passes - this was first time i had driven the car - ive never done drifting b4 either so im just learning and as u can here in the background of 1 of the clips, my previous car was a fwd saab :))

last time i was at the drags, the officials had a big whinge about no door trims so i just made these up yesterday out of .5mm thick aluminium

p8290308zb9.jpg

also pulled the rear bumper off to paint it properly. since ive got no fuel tank etc and the bumper had the potential to trap alot of air - i cut out 5 rectangular slots which will be filled with mesh. will upload som epics once painted. thought the car looked pretty tuff with no bumper so took a few snaps. b4 anyone comments - havent had a single problem with the o44 mounted as is

yeah im aware they arnt as effective in push config but this setup was borrowed from my soarer which i decided to go push inorder to keep the engine bay as tidy as possible. havent had any dramas with it so far. worst case senario - could run the factory fan as well

dont have any uploaded but if i feel like devoting the time it takes to upload them on youtube (about 3 hrs) ill put some runs up.

the weight is a bit of a sore point with a few other supra owners on here and supraforums but i have unofficially weighed it in at 1180 kg with a full 20 ltr tank of fuel back when it had lighter gtr rims on, no roll cage and factory brakes.

that weight was at the state drag strip so i cannot confirm it was accurate to a kg, 10kg or 50 kg

i lost 15 kg in upgrading brakes alone so id say id be close to 1180-1190 kg mark. shame im a solid 100kg and not 70 (as far as weight for racing cars go)

was getting late and loosing interest so is a little rough with a bit of shit in it which ill just polish out but atleast the bumpers painted and 100x better then it was.

wonder if my speed holes help. will fill them up with black mesh tomorrow.

also painted the rear light center garnish and the rear trims so the backend should look almost complete once bolted back on.

still saving up for bopmex rear add ons though

good shit man.. love the things u did so far. how hard is it to remove the front and rear bumper?

like everything on cars mate - just a matter of unbolting anything which is either in the way or attaching it to the car. given i dont have any interior trims etc - theres a lot less involved. i dont have any bumper supports and i know the rear bumper is held on by about 6 bolts and the front by about 4 (and 6 cable ties)

i want either a greddy bar or a doluck (demon) or a godfather. i missed out on a brand new godfather front bar for 400 dollars :( was pissed. current bumper and bonnet are just sprayed black with a can just to look half presentable since the car required bumpers to drag race. they both temporary items
