Its about that time again and the car is under the knife. Motor and tranny is pulled now. Going to put in a thicker metal head gasket as well as a heli coil stud kit on the exhaust side since they are starting to pull out. The R154 is getting a full rebuild with new syncro's and bearings along with marlin crawler upgrades.

Now the sweeeetest part of this year I lucked out on. One of my buddies bought a crashed JDM TTR mk3 and only needed the engine and tranny. Kind of a shame to see this car crashed since it was an absolute beauty before it kissed the back of a truck. Besides the motor set I have picked up the hole car and get the full shadow gray interior with recaro front seats, momo wheel, jdm folding mirror, immaculate JDM tinted tails, and even jdm as fuck window rain gaurds..! Everything is in beuatiful shape and I am extremely happy to have found this car. I will post pics on the TTR once I get it home.

Couple progress pics

Got the TTR home this afternoon with the help of a crane truck to get it up my steep ass driveway. Going to swap over things like the momo wheel, recaro interior, front sway bar, trim, JDM tails and a couple other things. Im stoked to get rid of the ox blood interior and replace with the shadow grey. Some pieces need a good cleaning but Im pretty sure it will come out nice. What ever parts are left over ill be selling off so if anyone wants stuff keep an eye out in the FS section.

Finally had some free time and spent 16 hours completely revamping and cleaning my shop to work on the supra. Super happy with how everything is and should make it everything a beauty to work on. Just got the car back inside the shop a few hours ago so its all systems go from now on!

Things on the list this year before the car is back again

-Complete rebuild of R154 with marlin crawler parts
-Install a thicker head gasket so its not so high compression
-Install maft-pro with speed density
-Swap over jdm tails, recaro interior, ect

Started ripping into my jza70 parts car. Got most of the interior out along with the JDM tails. For some reason someone got the bright idea to use FIPG to glue the lights in instead of using a gasket... Holy shit they were hard to get off without hurting them. But damn worth it they are SEXY..!

Finished stripping the JZA70 interior besides the momo steering wheel. Stipped all the interior out of my ma70 but the dash. Installed bigger speaker pods in doors and put on shadow grey door panels in the MA70. Mounted up the JDM tails and TTR molding.

Need to get some supplies tomorrow to carry on and CLEAN the living crap out of the recaro seats and carpet. So many things to do still but Im hauling ass to getter done as soon as possible. Heres a couple shots of progress today.

It is safe to say now there is NO MORE OXBLOOD! Interior is all shadow grey and recaro thanks to the TTR parts car. Pulled the dash out tonight and sprayed it along with a couple others with vinyl/plastic paint. The color match is great and looks beautiful.

Still need to wire in the wide band, AEM tru boost and a few other things before the dash goes back in. Makes life so much easier then crawling around underneath there.

Pulled the rear quarter windows out of the car to do some gangster limo tint. By taking them out there isnt a seam around the edge like every other MK3. Going to get the rear window professionally done since I dont want to deal with such a large surface. Also put the dash back in tonight. Im really happy with how everything is turning out so far.

Made progress today and ripped into the motor. Everything looks minty fresh in there still which is nice. Pulled all the old exhaust studs from the head then drilled, tapped and installed helicoils for the new studs. Cleaned all the surfaces and bolted the head back on with thicker MHG. Need to order both intake gaskets, exhaust gasket and a couple other small ones. Pretty well finished up with the motor for the most part maybe another 3 hours for little shit.

Also any of you 7M guys who have the cylinder head off I STRONGLY recommend cutting away the extra material that shrouds the head studs and nuts. Makes removing and torquing wayyyy easier when you can get a deep socket in there.

Picture time.

Made a lot of progress this week.

Completely rebuilt the R154 with bearings, syncros, shifter bushings and marlin crawler thrust washer. One of the shift fork bolts back itself out of somehow so I red lock tighted everything.

Repaired a lot of the engine harness and wired in maft-pro harness. Once the box is back from repair I just have to plug it in and start tuning :). Replaced the action 6 puck clutch that I demolished with an ACT 6 puck.

As of now I just need to put in the new steering rack and bolt the engine/trans together then drop it in. Im hoping to have it running tomorrow evening given I can do it before the hockey game hahah

Ya thatd be tight. Going to stay on stock body?

Where did you get the r154 rebuild kit from? And if you dont mind me asking how much did you put into the trans? Just parts. I got one i need to rebuild. Keep saying i will but i never do.

yeah im keeping the stock body but ill do some sort of front lip the same time as the whale tail.

I got all the trans parts from drift motion. The bearings, seals and syncos came as a kit and I got the thrust washer separate. Totaled out around $500 with shipping.
