I am going to explain this the best I can it will prolly be hard to follow....
so after racing my car I parked it, then got in it,
put it in first, drove off, pushed in the clutch, and went to shift it out of gear and I heard this sound of grinding, it wasnt the sound it makes when you push it in gear, it was a deep metal sound, and at the same time I had my hand on the shifter pulling it out of first, but it was insanely hard to pull out of gear, but it wasnt like stuck in first, the entire shifter was solid would hardly move, but I pulled alittle harder and it seemed like it was forcing its way around in the transmission, so I then release the clutch, and re-engage it and it made a high pitched "pop" sound (like the sound if you were to tap a wrench on the ground)
and then it all went back to normal. so I got it into second and drove, I am worried as all hell at this point, so I double clutch it into 3rd, and as I am dirving in 3rd I hear this loud ticking/poping sound coming from the shifter, and I can also feel it verry strongly in the shifter, it felt like something was rotating and hitting the shifter, then the noise stopped, then I come up to a stop sign and put it in nuetral, and I sit there for a min. with the clutch in listening for noises, and it all seems ok, then all of the sudden that rotating poping sound and the shifter did it again... so I put it in first and drive off,
I drive about 2 miles with no problems, I was double clutching everygear and not accelorating hard at all, when I was driving it seemed like there was some noise coming from the shifter, and with my hand on it you can feel the noise, if that makes sense. this could also be just me worrying, It may have always been noisy, but it seemed to be just fine,
then when I parked I released the clutch and it was alot of noise coming from the tranny area.
sorry if that is hard to understand but that is the best way I can explain it.
what do you think would have caused the shift to be stuck like it was, and it wasnt stuck in gear, you couldnt move the shifter at all, unless you were pulling REALY hard on it, and it still barely moved, it was like something was in its way,
and then what would have caused that rotating poping sound/feel in the shifter?
the way I saw it was that I dont think the tranny is shot b/c I would think that if something broke in it, it would BE broke, it wouldnt just go back to normal, so I was thinking it must be clutch related, slave or master cylander
I dont know much about trannys and clutches and stuff,
and I need to get this figured out, I dont feel safe driving it around if this were to happen again
thanks for all your help
