alright guys, so i was bored since im waiting for some parts, and since it looked so good on my friends MKIV i decided to relocate the fuse box inside of the fender and get it out of the engine bay. well i did that and ive got it all mounted and junk. i went into the wiring that went into the engine bay and separated only the ones that i needed, inside power, alt connector, C1 connector, alt power, and grounds (i dont have a/c). well i didnt cut any wires or anything, and now when i go to put the ground cables back on my battery, its sparking something crazy. anyone have an idea on what could be causing it? o and almost forgot, like a dumbass i didnt disconnect the battery before i started unplugging the harness from the fusebox :3d_frown: could that have maybe popped a fuse or a relay somewhere? thanks for the help guys

Use a volt meter, to find the voltage difference between the negative of the battery and the 'supposed ground wire' you're trying to connect, i am pretty sure it should be 12 volts (as it is sparking). Then go thru each wire connecting to this supposed ground, until you find the one that is at 12 volts.

I'm dont have a clear picture of what you're doing in my mind, so am not sure, but basically i think somewhere you have 12 v connected to a ground wire on the fusebox. Basically a volt meter would prove it to be so, and you can go from there.

ive got my battery relocated to my trunk, so the grounds that are sparking are the two cables that ground to the frame. ill have to get my friend to come over with his voltmeter tomorrow
