Ill give it a shot again. Im not too motivated to go at it again as when I went back there the first time. There was a ton of spliced wires. I think someone tried to do it before I owned the car. Ill give it a shot again!

All you are doing is isolating the fog circuit from the headlight circuit.

For Pre-89:

1. Find the fog light relay, cut the white/green wire (pin 3) and ground it.
2. Find the fog light switch, cut the red/black wire (pin 4) and connect it to a switched +12VDC power source. See Note

Note: For example: splice it into the black/red wire (Pin 2) on the cruise control switch (pre-89) or cruise control main relay (89+), or splice it into the red/yellow wire (Pin 2) on the fog light relay, however this will result in the fog lights functioning even if the car is off.
Ok so all we have to do for the pre 89's is what you posted there and where set, can you confirm the wire colors because you posted that you wern't sure and I'm on my way outside to do it right now and i'll take my sidekicks so I can keep checking up.

He wasn't unsure about his wiring, it was the wiring listed in the version I posted he's unsure of.... sorry, I haven't checked it against my '88 TEWD either. I was really just posting it for those who need some kind of ballpark idea where things are located.

Well it isnt workin for me as of now.

I cut the white/green wire. Added an extension, and grounded it to a place by the fusebox

Thats a bitch wire to work with as It was cut very far up close to the dash.

And here is up at the switches....

I spliced all 3 wires together... I am gonna go remove the one goign to the cruise switch as of now to see if that fixes it.. If not. Tell me where I fed up.

Yeah, and I suspect you may have grounded the wrong side of the white/green wire. From what I understand the side going to the relay needs to be grounded and the dash side capped.

Neither one of those two is a tapped or "Y" connection.

Well Ill redo that then. Im gonna cap off the dash side white/green and ground the side to the relay. Now that I think of it that makes more sense.

And ill redo my dash button splieages now.

Let us know how it works! I've been too lazy or too busy fixing broken stuff to do this on mine yet.

Still not workin....

So here is how I have it. Would be great if mr Lange could step in... :p

white/green from harness = capped
White/green from relay = grounded

Red/black from fogs = spliced with red/black to cruise
red/black from harness for cruise (AND FOGS) = capped.

I need to get this done if not im gonna get the wires for the fogs, snip em and run em to this

3 posts in a row. omg!

This may sound dumb.... But does it matter if the relay is on its clip on the body... I checked and it doesnt look like it has anything to do with grounding. or does it?
