I have a dumber question. What does PPS stand for and what does it do? I have an MK2/7mgte engine swap and I bought another ps pump (PPS-smaller pulley) that does not leak. Should I have any problems if I use it? (other than having to buy another belt)

what does that vacum cap thing do on that pump is it dasiy chained off the vsv and such

If that vacuum assembly was bad, could that cause loss of P/S at and idle or lower RPM's? By the way I finally ordered a p/s pump. Through Baxters, remanned by A-1 (I think), and with the help of 89Turbo. Thanks Nick, and thank you IJ for the help on this.

Wanted to drop in and say thanks to everyone that had input on this. Installed the rebuilt P/S pump I got from Baxters and steering is much better with no noise now. Just a side note: I was having problems getting the vacuum valve off the old pump and was going to replace it but Toyota said it was $260. Needless to say I went ahead and got the old one off the pump.:biglaugh:
