I've driven all four (Stock, Cut, Cs, and JK).
Please remember that the short "height" shifters are not any shorter in height than our factory shifter. Their center console is just much higher so the shifter appears shorter in height.
The "Cut" shifter is notchier and requires more force to shift.
Both the Cs and the JK shifter have similar height to the stock shifter but only require a flick of the wrist to shift gears.
In my personal opinion I would rather have the Cs or the JK (I actually have the JK) and then redesign the center console so it is higher in the middle where ours dips down. Take a look at the MR2 and the MkIV Supra and compare their center console to ours and you will quickly see what I am saying here.
I have also heard negative feedback from racers. Cutting your shifter (or even going with the Cs or JK shifters) causes you to miss shifts more frequently when racing.
In the end it all depends on you. If you like the look of the "cut" shifter and don't care as much about the performance then go for it. If you are a racer and want the best possible shifter for our car then go Automatic and it won't matter anyway.
