Alright im test fittting my rings in my bore to check the end gaps and have found them to big...

Just so you know im using my piston to push the ring squarely into the bore..

spec in my haynes is .0114-.0173 inch..top ring

.098-.0209 bottom ring

Both rings are .028ish i am running std size npr rings..

Will it be ok to run like this or will i lose compression?????

Thanks for the feed back DW:1zhelp:

I come from a land down under
I run around the 22>25 thou in 7M's I'm going to lean on hard, 28 while "loose" shouldn't be too bad, but WILL have more blowby than stock so increasing PCV flow potential may be needed.

thanks i was hoping you would chime in...

What would be needed to increase my pcv flow?

I will run a catch can to help with the excesss blowby other than that i dont have any ideas

I come from a land down under
I ran -10 fittings and loines from the Cam Covers to a CC, a -6 to the TB and a -10 to between the Turbo and Airfilter.

An option would be to buy a set of file to fit rings for the NPR's but I'm not sure how fanatical/fussy you're going to be on this build.

I started running loose end gaps after nipping up a ring during a top end lean run and trashing a bore.

I just checked my oil control ring and there the same about .028 ish and thats also out of spec

Should i be very concerned or are these liveable specs

On a side note this engine is not gonna be a daily its only going to be ran hard on the track so bigger tolerances on the top two rings should be alright

The oil control rings have me worried...........

Here are my measurments that i just took for piston to bore clearence and they are.0010 out of spec...

is this why my rings do not fit??

pistons are 3.2675
bore is 3.2720

p2b is .0045

Haynes says.0028-.0035 even being that makes me .0010 off spec seems like the rings were sized to big to start with got my nprs from Dm so theye arent knockoffs
