Recently I have been doing more business in my paypal account then every before so up until now I haven't really paid attention to fees, but today I recieved a payment from a credit and paypal wants me to pay a fee (2.9 % + $0.30) to accept it and upgrade my account to business level. Now this little fee wouldn't bug me if it was just for times when I accept a credit/ debit card payment but once I upgrade the account I will get charged on ALL incoming payments. I just wanted to know if anyone else has upgraded there account and how do they feel about it.

i upgraded my account and get charged the paypal fees every time... but it's not so bad, only a couple of dollars here n there and i normally charge the customer for it

yep, for now on, when you sell something... make sure you put that the buyer adds 3% to cover Paypal fees.

paypal is really convenient, and most everyone uses it. Its not so bad to pay the small fees, like suze said just ask the buyer to add 3% to cover PP fees.

I will trade a buck or two for an instant payment from a confirmed paypal account any day. It makes an ebiz go very smooth with emails, fast payments, refunds, labels and shipping address.

I have only been burnt as a seller once because I accepted payment from an unconfirmed paypal account for an item I sold. I got screwed on that one..

My bad, lesson learned.

No Idea on the biz account switch, I will look into it some...
