OMG!!! POWER Finally

Okay, so finally after driving this car for nearly 3 months, it has power and tons of boost! I was sooo confused why it never felt that powerful. I mean, i could get it to boost when i pushed it, but it felt like i was always fighting it.
Well, i spent the night working on the supra. I have had the iridium plugs sitting around to be put in, so i finally did it. The car had an rpm bump which is totally gone! YAY!!! and the car has a freakish amount of power now!!! YES! So yeah, i just took it out and had a blast! One of the plugs was nearly closed. It had a gap of about 12mm instead of 28. I don't know how it happened. That explains why it couldn't rev smoothly.

So yeah, now i have a new issue. Being it is 11pm and i am tired, i am not going to diagnose it much more tonight, but the car made a funny noise under full boost. I could replicate it over and over. When i pushed the pedal, it made a funny noise like a fan from the turbo side of the car i am guessing. It didn't sound nice or good, but the car kept boosting even with the noise. Anyone have an idea? Does it have something to do with the stock turbos?

Also tonight i installed the hydro fan setup with an American radiator. My 1jz radiator blew last week, so i had to swap it. So i have only 2 bolts holding the fan in, so i am hoping it has something to do with that, but i am not sure. It is dark and i cant see well outside.

Another very exciting thing was that the car runs fine under full boost. I have been seriously worried about boosting the car because it seemed that it ran lean under full boost. Well, that is definitely not the case. I ran the laptop tonight and under full boost at about 5 grand the a/f goes to between 12 and 11. So i am very very happy. Everything seems to be fine with fuel. I just wish i had changed the plugs earlier.

If anyone has any ideas on what might cause a funny noise like this, please let me know.

Update: Well, i was really freaking out about the noise. It seemed it was just coming on with boost. It sounded really funny, like a small motor under boost. It started making noise at 1lb of boost and went until i stopped boosting. Well, i got an idea and i turned off my AVC-R boost controller. Well no more noise. So it seems like one of the sensors or something that is connected to the boost controller is what causes the noise. Does anyone know?

Also, DAMN! THis engine is fricken fun as hell!!! Finally i know what it feels like to have a 1j. SO much power and so damn responsive! I wish i had known that plug was bad. It would have made the last few months much funner.

So anyone with a AVCR, let me know if you have had similar issues with the map sensor or something like that.

The solenoid of the avc-r makes quite some noise when it's active. (pulsating noise)
Have you used the little piece of rubber when you bolted it to the car?

Got it! OK, that is exactly what i was thinking. But no mount sadly, it got crushed when i installed the engine accidently. I just wanted to make sure the noise was normal, it sounded very weird. I really wonder why it started now. I have been running 14 lbs of boost since i started driving the car, and i have never heard the noise until after replacing the plugs. Very funny! :)

but the noise stops if you disconnect or switch off the avc-r?

how do you have the solenoid mounted now, if you bolt it down without the rubber inbetween the solenoid can go fubar after a while, they warn about that in the manual as well..

It is not mounted, the mount broke during engine install. It hasnt made any noises until now. I am going to deal with it soon.
