if you are running maft pro with speed density, you can just remove the AFM.... thats it
just connect the air filter to where the AFM used to be. you can still use the accordion hose.

or, what i did was just buy a 45 degree aluminum pipe and put 2 fitting on it for the PCV and the PS idle up

Just a regular silicone coupler. Or a 3-4 ply silicone coupler. You can order them from your local automotive store. From their performance book.

I replaced mine with, well, nothing. And I DO realize the whole "OH MY GOD, YOU HAVE NO PCV VACUUM!!!!" situation, but, in my opinion, the vacuum isn't necessary, since we don't really have a pcv valve anyway. It's just a hole in the valve covers/cam covers/whatever you want to call them.

An air filter that close to your turbo is going to suck in a lot of hot air.

There's ducting built into the hood to bring cool air down, and the filter is a temporary solution anyway. I'm in the process of installing a FFIM and a bunch of other stuff, so I'm not sure what kind of room I'm going to have until later.

As long as you realize (as well as the OP) that your opinion is dead nuts wrong.

Vacuum is required for the PCV system on the 7M to work correctly...this is not opinion, it's simply a fact. A PCV valve is not used on a 7M because it utilizes a orifice built into the TB instead. The fitting at the accordion hose is there to provide a path for crankcase vapor to exit when the motor is under boost (the TB orifice is under positive pressure vs vacuum). What you just demonstrated is you have NFI how the PCV system works.

Do what you like, but screwing with the PCV system is not a good idea. Why don't you put some of those little air filters on the cam cover tubes, I haven't had an amusing thread pop up in a while ;)

It truly amazes me how many times you and I can have the same discussion on here, and as I mentioned in the post right before yours, and you didn't take the time to read, is that it's a temporary solution. I was merely demonstrating that you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want as far as the intake tube/afm is concerned, which is what this thread is concerning, not the pcv system or how it works in conjunction with the 7m TB (which I don't have, anyway).

Furthermore, since I don't have the stock TB, nor the aforementioned orifice located on it, my pcv system would have consisted of a hole in the valve covers, as I previously mentioned. Granted, I should have said "I" instead of "we," but still.

You are, however, absolutely correct concerning the relation between the PCV and the TB. I was unaware that the stock TB had anything to do with PCV whatsoever and, with that being said, I'm not really sure how on earth i would install one for my particular application, anyway, since I don't have anything resembling an orifice on my TB (a q45 unit) for it. I'm assuming that I'd have to replace the hole in the valve/cam covers with an actual pcv valve, but that has nothing to do with this topic, so I'll shut up.

Happy?

/end rant/threadjack.

Yah thats what I did also. The 45 was a perfect fit. I don't have the GTE PS resivoir though.

Keep in mind you brought the PCV up, not me, here:

A few points:
1) This is the tech section...the posts here need to be accurate. You specifically said that vacuum was not necessary for the 7M PCV.
2) The post before mine was about the air filter...I did not address it because it had nothing to do with your statement concerning point #1
3) The stock accordion hose is a part of the PCV system...something you failed to adequately address.
4) You are giving advice to someone, but leaving out a few details (till now). Since the intake, turbo, IC & piping, TB and manifold are all integrated as a system, what you do to one can and will affect the others.
5) Guess what? The PCV is part of the air induction system...replacing the accordion hose has everything to do with the PCV system. So does using a different TB. Something you not only ignored, but gave advice to the determent of the system as a whole.

It's funny I had to slam you to get a through answer...maybe you should think about that before you post in the tech section again.

Happy? That you are posting incorrect info in the tech section? No. That you are using sarcism and conveniently ignoring what you said about the PCV? No. That you are accusing me of a thread jack? No.
Pay attention to what you say in this section...Got it? I won't tell you this again.

We originally ran a civic intake that had ports for vacuum and such with a cone filter on the end of it.
BTW -what does a Civic have to do with the time of day in China, in this context?

Fine. You were right. I was wrong.

...a civic intake, meaning an intake designed for a Honda Civic tweaked to fit an Mkiii.

It wasn't that exact one, but if you've seen one you've seen 'em all.
