Vacuum is required for the PCV system on the 7M to work correctly...this is not opinion, it's simply a fact. A PCV valve is not used on a 7M because it utilizes a orifice built into the TB instead. The fitting at the accordion hose is there to provide a path for crankcase vapor to exit when the motor is under boost (the TB orifice is under positive pressure vs vacuum). What you just demonstrated is you have NFI how the PCV system works.
Do what you like, but screwing with the PCV system is not a good idea. Why don't you put some of those little air filters on the cam cover tubes, I haven't had an amusing thread pop up in a while![]()

just connect the air filter to where the AFM used to be. you can still use the accordion hose.
or, what i did was just buy a 45 degree aluminum pipe and put 2 fitting on it for the PCV and the PS idle up

I was merely demonstrating that you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want as far as the intake tube/afm is concerned, which is what this thread is concerning, not the pcv system or how it works in conjunction with the 7m TB (which I don't have, anyway).
Furthermore, since I don't have the stock TB, nor the aforementioned orifice located on it, my pcv system would have consisted of a hole in the valve covers, as I previously mentioned. Granted, I should have said "I" instead of "we," but still.
You are, however, absolutely correct concerning the relation between the PCV and the TB. I was unaware that the stock TB had anything to do with PCV whatsoever and, with that being said, I'm not really sure how on earth i would install one for my particular application, anyway, since I don't have anything resembling an orifice on my TB (a q45 unit) for it. I'm assuming that I'd have to replace the hole in the valve/cam covers with an actual pcv valve, but that has nothing to do with this topic, so I'll shut up.
Happy?
/end rant/threadjack.

BTW -what does a Civic have to do with the time of day in China, in this context?alloyguitar;1332147 said:We originally ran a civic intake that had ports for vacuum and such with a cone filter on the end of it.
