So I'm checking my fluids like usual and I pull my radiator cap off and the spring and gasket are still in the radiator, I go to grab it but in my "oh shit" clumsiness I knock it in. I am able to get the spring out with some playing around with some tweezers but I lost the gasket. I'm about to go get a cap but should I flush the cooling system out? I could NOT find that damn gasket and I don't want to risk clogging it up. I was always under the impression that the gasket sat on a "shelf" to prevent this from happening and maybe I knocked it out while getting the spring but didn't notice because I was worried about getting the spring back.
