Ok Great way to start off the new years, I know something just broke.

Happy New Years every one, Anyways i let my lil brother take the car out 2nite and he left about 20 minutes ago. Idk wat i was thinking, within 5 minutes he called me saying he broke something.
Long story he was wot, shifting at redline every gear, went thru the first fourth and then went back third instead of 5th. He said that the car just skid a lil bit and the rpm's jump really high and he then immediately pressed back on the clutch and wen he took his foot off the clutch sty depressed a lil bit. Even tho the pedal remain depressed the car remained drivable.
I got in the car and step on the clutch and even tho it was like probably half the normal length of travel, it would still fully disengage and engage. I turned the car off, and just tried to yank and pull the clutch pedal back 2wards me and it seem that it fix the trick, I then drove it around the block real quick and everything seems fine. I wonder what was the reason the clutch pedal ended up like that?

Isn't that what he's saying. He said he red line shifted in wot through 4th and mis shifted into 3rd instead of 5th. The car died and the clutch pedal was janky.

If he just yanked it back into place. Something is malfunctioned somewhere.
I haven't had this problem. But if it were mine. I would want to be sure the peddle debacle was squashed before I went out driving hard again is all I'm saying.

If it isn't a cable..., what is it?

yea in the am im going to check the fluid, and the linkage, Im also going to check the clucth pedal freeplay and see if its within specs, I honestly dont really have a clue as to why this happend, The pedal was just about half down and acted as if it was normal, Still able to fully dissenage and enage. Anyways im off 2 sleep, Happy New Years everyone

Queenskid: Look up under the dash, there's a pedal adjustment screw, and a clutch switch. Make sure the adj. screw isn't bent. Could be the shaft for the master cylinder got hung up as well, or maybe the pin that holds it in place. Sounds like your bro panicked and slammed the pedal pretty hard. Odd problem, kinda hard to say what could really be wrong without laying eyes on it.

I have let one non-supra owner drive my car and he's a trusted friend who knows how hard I worked to buy the car... needless to say, he took it easy. Non-Supra owners shouldn't drive mkiii's... better yet: No one should redline a car that isn't theirs without the owner at least present.

Ok this the update,
Last night when i said everything was all fine and back to normal i guess thats was just me feeling better that i got the pedal back up and it was able to fully engage and disengage. Everything is not ok

Today i took the car out for a spin. The disengagement point change and requires further pedal action to begin disengagement. Almost as if somehow air got into the system and it needs to be bleed. How can this happen? Doesnt seem as if i lost any clutch fluid. If i did it is really a lil bit. Im getting my clutch bleed 2moro morning at a shop cause i just dont have the time. I hope thats all it needs, and doesnt require installing a new master cylinder or even worse,, a slave cylinder.

A week ago when my local shop replaced my lower ball joints. They said that i needed new tranny mount. I didnt have it replaced then cause they were going to keep it overnight and i need my car for work. I can feel a lil bit of vibration at speed and i kno that is comming from a worn tranny mount which means everything isnt perfectly alligned. So could it be from my worn tranny mount caused this problem and allowed the master cylinder to get hung up? But again after i pulled the pedal back, everything works except that the disengagement point lowered as if i have air in my system.

Make sure you give your brother a great big ol hug when you hand them keys over to him. It doesn't sound like he is going to be around much longer once he becomes the proud owner of your car. Take it for what it's worth, but some poeple dont' respect the power of a supra........even a torqued challenged 1j.

No, I don't believe the trans. mount will effect the master cylinder. The master cylinder is bolted to the firewall, and has a rod coming out of it that connects to the clutch pedal assembly. There is a steel line that runs down the firewall, and next to the frame. From there over to the slave cylinder(bolted to the trans.) is a rubber line. The broken trans. mount WILL effect other things. One broken mount tends to stress the others. Also u-joints, carrier bearing, and driveshaft.
Did you look under the dash to see if anything was bent or broken? Could possibly be the master or slave cylinder; if it is, one or the other will start leaking. Could also be the rubber line is starting to lose its rigidity, and swelling with pressure, which would give the pedal an odd feeling. Could also be the pressure plate is getting soft, or the clutch plate got a little singed. There are a lot of possibilities here.
Don't be to hard on your bro. I've missed a shift or 2, and I've been driving standards for a long time now. Easy to do on an unfamiliar car, especially if the shifter is a little sloppy. Now as to hard driving someone else's car(wot, and shifting at redline), I don't intentionally try to break anything I can't afford to replace.
