od & tems questions

im a noob when it comes the mkiii, just purchased my first a few days ago.

was wondering how to tell if tems controller is working.

also, its auto (both my mkiv's are/were manual) and the od light just flickers all the time, regardless if you press the button.

how can i verify that it is working properly?

btw its an 88 7mgte

Switch between the modes and listen for the motors actuating. Depress the accelerator pedal to simulate a WOT situation and listen and watch that the TEMS goes into full firm mode. On a test drive above 40MPH you should hear the TEMS also go full firm when braking.

As far as your OD light flashing, is your speedometer working? If so I would check for codes from the transmission.
