i found someone claiming that a set of teflon coated npr non-forged pistons would hold 650hp. can anyone verify that? i'm not so sure, but i also don't know too much about these motors yet

Well, everything I have heard says stock pistons & rods are good to 600,
so it's not too far off, if they are real NRP.
It's a scam going on at eBay right now to sell no-name chinese pistons with new NRP rings.........
I wouldn't put a chinese piston in a lawn mower.......

But I have a used set of ROSS that if your bores are small enough, will cost you not much more.
They are used, and I would put new rings on them.
They are ROSS's .005" over for using with a light hone on a stock bore.
Very little use, the engine spun a bearing.
I bought the pistons to use on my engine, before finding my open chamber Group-A head.
I can not use the stock turbo compression pistons with that head, had to buy some Wiseco 9:1s.

Stock pistons will handle 650hp, with the perfect tune.

Are you willing to bet your motor on the fact that one fuel injector will never deviate from the others?

Willing to bet that you will never get a bad batch of gas?

Forged pistons are the best insurance you will ever purchase. Don't even think of cast pistons at 2x the stock level of performance.

i have heard of people using nippon pistons and making 500hp at the wheels. its all about the tuning. nippons with good rings aren't bad pistons (i have a brand new set for sale cheap if interested) but u cant beat forged if u can afford them and r planning on big performance numbers

it is on the tune and we all gamble just using a turbo car. You just are able to add more peace of mind with better upgrades.

1 dud load of fuel + boost will = broken ringlands on cast pistons :(

Forged give you a little more room for error.
