I just put my 87 Turbo away for the winter. I bought the car about 6 weeks ago and it went into storage quickly to preserve. Needless to say, I still have much to learn about her since we have only been friends for a short period. While bringing it to storage, I tried using the heat and it won't produce any. If I put it on manual mode at max temp, it pushes cool air. If I put it on auto at a warm temp, it does nothing.

I know the first things to check are coolant hoses in/out out of the firewall to see if coolant is getting there or if it doesn't return (blocked core). Is anyone familiar with these symptoms? May it be the climate control unit? I will diagnose in depth when she comes out of storage in the spring but I was curious if this was a common thing and I didn't get the memo. thanks.

See if the Heater Valve is changing position when you go from Cool to Warm.

Well, couple of things to check.

Coolant level- make sure all the air is out of the system.

Feel the lines? - makes sure the heater core lines are warming up. (dont burn yourself!!)

Uh, and what he said.... check the heater valve and/or make sure vacuum is being applied to it.
