ok so earlier i posted about having my targa break while i was driving and luckily i found some dude parting out a supra so im just buying a new targa for 60 bucks.

but its a 88 will it fit on my 87??

another thing is its red and my cars white. so of course im planning on painting it when im sanding it should i sand it till all the red is gone before i spray the white or can i just sand till just the primer and paint will stick??

yes it will fit, the targa from any year mk3 is the same.

As for painting it, I highly suugest priming before painting. Is your car superwhite or Pearl white? If its pearl white then you are also going to have to clear coat it after if you want the paint to match.

For spot jobs like that I have had good success with the plasticoat "import color" spray cans. You can easily find the matching paint for the toyota paint codes and 1 can of primer, 2 cans of color, and 2 cans clear (clear is only needed if your paint is pearl) should do the job.

sand it with 320 grit untel the whole serface if sanded well. no need to go all the way through, unless there is many coats of paint on it already. after you have sanded it with 320 clean it up really good and spray some sandable primer on it. let dry, wet sand with 600 grit. clean up really good. spray color. let dry. spray clear. let dry.
