i need help with my mkiii from someone in the tidewater area. please someone help me i need to get this car running been without my supra since september.

ok i will start from the beginning, i got the car in october from a cousin of mine. the car has been sitting since 2001. so i got it from him and started with a new head gasket, got the head checked and machined. put new starter, alternator, fuel pump, relocated fuel filter with new one, new afm, and changed all fluids, battery, and fueses. finally got it to start in janaury, and its been having problems off and on. just recently i was messing with some of the wires on the engine harness and they were so corroded that they broke. so i kinda repaired the wires with new connectors on the afm. but when i got the new afm i put it on and it fired right up, so i drove it around the block and it drove fine, got home and popped the hood to check everything out and then it started to idle bad, and shuts off. so i start it back up and try to drive it around the block and it will barly drive at all. so my next step was a tps. i got the tps off of my parts car and put it on and it still did the same thing. so i got an idea that popped in my head "hold the tps wide open with it connected to teh harness but not the throttle body, and try to start it. well it started right up and when i released the lever it would idle bad again and cut off." so i came to a conclusion that its my wiring harness, and my tps. also just last night i try to go start it and all it will do is just crank, so i go to try to pull codes and my check engine light wont blink so i take out the jumper from t and e1 and put the ignition to the start position and my check engine light is not lit up. now im like why is this not lit up, i really dont know, so now im lost again. sorry for such a long responce.
are you sure the check engine light has a bulb in it? sounds stupid but i tried pulling codes on mine about 5 times with nothing, then i thought about who i bought the car from and some other problems it had when i got it. so i took the dash apart and sure enough the p.o.s po took the check engine bulb out...

Not to get off the topic but I have the same problem in my 87 Turbo Supra but what happen to me is the positive touched the ground and now I have a short somewhere and the car seems fine but the engine light does not light up either and the bulb if fine(I checked twice). Have you tested the voltage or resistance in the connections. Once you have a wiring diagram then that might help you out. It has for me:naughty:.
well its kinda weird because the other day the car would atleast start but would run bad, but now it will just crank and wont start.
ok i finally got my car to run again. all i needed was a new wiring harness throttlebody tps and coolant temp sensor. got all of these parts in last night within 3 hours. it took me 3 hours to take out the old harness remove all the necessary intake pipes, throttle body, upper intake manifold, old wiring harness, temp sensor, and i even romoved the fuel rail and changed out my fuel injectors, and put all the stuff back in its original place. i started at 8:00pm and finished at 11:00pm. and the thing that makes me proud is i took out and replaced all these parts all by myself. i appreciate everyones help, i could not of figured out the problems if it wasnt for my fellow supra owners.
but the car seems like it could run better, but i'll worry about that later, have to get a couple of kinks out of it, but im just glad its running.
