Hello supramania,

today i have removed my oilpan to fix gasket leaks, and found a strange thing:

first i saw that #1 piston is different from others it has stamped "Aisin" on one side and "Toyota 42050" on other side, the other 5 pistons has stamped "227" and "S". then i find out that #1 rod bearing is backwards(oil hole is in different side).

car runs good, have no issues with compression, has Ajusa head gasket with arp's, so i wound't like to take head off.

i'm guessing somebody did a ghetto hone/ring job, anywho, my questions is:

what kind of piston is this, is it safe to use? how could i identify which one is backwards by looking from bottom: piston, rod or both? is there anything i could do, to spin it to normal position without taking head? any advices?

sorry no pics yet...

Thanks
