Need help restoring cracked and peeling window trim

Need help and ideas on the best way to fix the trim. The lower front window trim has a small crack in it, I think that can be filled and worked and painted. But the hatch trim is peeling pretty bad, of course the trim than can come off are the better ones so I cant really have the ones stuck on the car blasted to like new. The best option might be sanding them.

The trim you are talking about is expensive. I thought about having the trim wrapped with the same stuff they wrap cars with. It should be durable and look ok.

I did exactly this with the corner pieces on the upper windshield. Yes, those are supposed to be black even though almost every mk3 has none of the black left and they appear to be chrome.

Only true way is to replace them. They're supposed to effectively seal the window channels and stop water from getting in.
